Elephants have been revered in Celtic cultures for their strength, power, and wisdom. Elephants are known to show empathy for their group members: they protect and comfort others, retrieve and “babysit” calves, help elephants that need assistance with moving and remove spears and veterinary darts attached to others. Elephants and Crows have been shown to have  an intense  reactions when experiencing loss of a close member.  Even having rituals resembling a funeral.
